The sand flies with little wings,

Gliding like songbird as it sings;

And as the tides crash against the grains once more,

Only togetherness can prevent the inevitable

Compactness sparing the grains.

I venture through the empty space –

Seeking that familiar smile;

Though the only thing I am capable of feeling

I notice as I stagger breathless

Because my breath belongs to you,

It has since I was last in your arms,

When you took my breath away.
