The Keys to Success #2: Sacrifice & Self-Belief

I am someone who is in no way successful. Not even close. I am a long, long way away from where I want to be in my life and it is still very much a work in progress. But that is the difference between me and the next person: I am not where I want to be right now, but I know that someday I will be.

I know that because I am willing to do whatever it takes to get me there, no matter how many hours I have to put in or how many rejection letters I might receive or how many bodybuilding shows I don’t win – I am willing to do whatever it takes to become successful and I am willing to make sacrifice after sacrifice until I can look over my life and say that I have made it. I truly believe that I will and that is very much what separates me from other people my age.

I am willing to sacrifice nights out socialising with my friends, drinking or going to the cinema. I am willing to miss a family meal in order to get my workout in or because my diet won’t allow it. I am willing to spend my nights in the gym and my mornings working. I am willing to put one foot in front of the other and walk along the road to greatness – and that is the outlook that you should adopt too.

Don’t be afraid to sacrifice or miss out on socialising with people on nights out, especially when half of the time those people aren’t even relevant – just friends of mutual friends. Your true friends and loved will understand your sacrifices and those who don’t, well, let’s just say that you don’t need them in your life. That is negative energy and on the road to greatness anything negative is a no-go.

The take home from today’s post: sacrifice, sacrifice and sacrifice some more. Whilst other people are spending their Friday nights drinking and then their Saturdays and Sundays lounging in bed recovering, you won’t be. You’ll be working hard to ensure a brighter future and to make sure that you become someone – that you don’t just waste your life away doing the same boring things with the same boring people. It’s simple: sacrifice without any regrets and believe in yourself. Those are two things that very much lead to success and success will certainly lead to some:
